According to the latest regulations in both the United States and the European Union, most drones that exceed a weight of 249 grams (0.55 pounds) are required to be fitted with a Direct / Broadcast Remote ID system by a specified deadline. This requirement applies to both recreational and commercial drone operators.


However, there are certain exceptions to this rule. Specific drone models that adhere to designated guidelines or those operated by government and authorized entities may not be subject to this mandate. It’s important to note that these exceptions can vary depending on the region.
